President Biden To Visit Joliet Area School On Saturday
The Joliet Police Department informed Joliet Patch it will be helping with traffic control for Saturday's event on Joliet's far west side.

JOLIET, IL — On Thursday, sources told Joliet Patch that President Joe Biden would be coming to Joliet for a political rally at either the Rialto Square Theatre or the Bicentennial Park. Indeed, Biden will be visiting the Joliet area on Saturday, but his appearance will not be in Joliet's downtown. Instead, Biden will appear on the far west side of Joliet in the Minooka area.
Biden will be giving a speech at the Jones Elementary School which is part of the Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201, even though the property has a mailing address of 800 Barberry Way, Joliet.
Joliet Police spokesman Dwayne English told Patch on Friday night that his officers will be assisting with the traffic control for Saturday's appearance by the president.

Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans told Patch on Friday night that he will be on site for Saturday morning's event with the president, as will lots of Joliet police officers.
Evans said he's been in communication with the Secret Service regarding the logistics of the president's visit to Joliet. "It's a big honor to have the President of the United States of America in our community," Evans told Patch. "We are going to do everything we can to assist the Secret Service to make sure everything is safe and according to plan."

On Thursday, Patch reported that Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were both expected to make stops in the Chicago area in the coming days to stump for fellow Democrats locked into tight races as Tuesday’s midterm election approaches.
Biden is expected to join Gov. J.B. Pritzker in events designed to encourage Democrats to get out to vote on Tuesday. The events are pushing for voter turnout within the party to support Reps. Sean Casten, Lauren Underwood and Bill Foster, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
"From Scranton to Wilmington to the White House — with thousands of train rides in between," the White House's website proclaims. "President Biden represented Delaware for 36 years in the U.S. Senate before becoming the 47th Vice President of the United States. As President, Biden will restore America’s leadership and build our communities back better."
