Ollie Arrested In Joliet Murder Of Romeoville Man

Joliet Police announced the arrest on Saturday.

JOLIET, IL - The Joliet Police Department announced on Saturday that they made an arrest in connection with one of this month's murders. On Friday, police captured 23-year-old Martell Ollie, who lives in the 200 block of Joliet's Nicholson Street, jail logs show. Ollie is now in the Will County Jail where he has been charged in the killing of Donald M. Woods Jr. The killing of the 24-year-old Romeoville resident occurred during broad daylight on Tuesday around 4 p.m in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue near Sherman Street.

After being shot, Woods was rushed to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital where he died. Now the murder defendant is being detained on a $5 million bail, police said. Besides the murder counts, jail logs indicate that Ollie faces a number of other criminal charges at the Will County Courthouse including several drug charges involving the manufacturing of cocaine.

Ollie spent time in the county jail in 2017 and 2016 jail logs show.
