Repeat DUI Offender Arrested By Joliet Police With Open Alcoholic Beverages In His Car: English
Police said he was driving on a revoked license stemming from a prior DUI conviction and had a warrant for failing to appear in court.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced that a previously convicted drunk driver was captured over the weekend for another DUI arrest. The agency announced that Rogelio Ceballos-Garcia was charged with two counts of aggravated DUI, DUI, driving while license revoked, resisting a peace officer, obstructing identification and an outstanding Will County warrant.
He was also cited for operating a motor vehicle with suspended plates for no insurance, expired registration and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, an officer on regular patrol in the 800 block of East Jackson Street conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Civic after learning the vehicle’s registration was suspended for no insurance.

English said the driver initially provided a fictitious name; however, officers later confirmed his identity as Rogelio Ceballos-Garcia, 39, of Joliet.
During the traffic stop, officers noticed an open alcohol can inside the vehicle and Ceballos-Garcia admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving, English pointed out.

Following the field sobriety tests, officers tried to take Ceballos-Garcia into custody. He briefly resisted by tensing his body and tried to walk away before being detained, English said in his press release.
Joliet police noted that Ceballos-Garcia was driving on a revoked license stemming from a prior DUI conviction, and he had an active Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous aggravated fleeing and eluding charge.
Ceballos-Garcia was processed at the Joliet Police Department and taken to the Will County Jail where remains in custody as of Monday afternoon. This marks the fourth trip to the Will County Jail for Ceballos-Garcia, who comes from the 600 block of East Jackson Street.
