Man, 28, Accused Of Exposing Himself To Two Women In Joliet
The Joliet Police Department said both incidents occurred around 10 and 11 a.m. Wednesday.

JOLIET, IL - The Joliet Police Department arrested a 28-year-old man from Romeoville on Wednesday on two counts of public indecency, both misdemeanors. Brent J. Gerardy was arrested after a series of disturbing incidents between 10 and 11 a.m., according to Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory. The first happened at the Sam's Club on Larkin Avenue.
According to Gregory, a 29-year-old woman was walking through the Sam's parking lot around 10:30 a.m. when a four-door Silver Nissan with tinted windows suddenly pulled up to her. "The driver began to question her because she had Tennessee license plates," Gregory said. Moments later, "she saw that he had his penis exposed."
The woman ran back into the store. The young man sped away. Joliet police responded to Sam's Club to investigate. The driver was described as white, skinny, with short brown hair. He was possibly in his 30s, police said.

The Joliet Police Department later learned of a second similar crime. In the 900 block of Dawes Avenue, a woman walking her dog was stopped by a slow moving vehicle in her neighborhood. The young man wore a dark T-shirt and had brown-blond hair, Gregory said. "The subject asked her how to get to Essington Road," Gregory said. "She started to give him directions."
As the woman talked, she stepped closer to the man's vehicle. "She could see his penis was exposed," Gregory said. The woman ran into her house to call police. The man drive off. "She did get the license plate," Gregory said.

Joliet's patrol officers received a bulletin with the suspect description and license plates. Back at Sam's Club, store managers furnished police with video surveillance of the parking lot incident there, Gregory said.
Eventually, Joliet officers located the suspect's vehicle in the 100 block of Des Plaines Street. And that's where the Romeoville man was taken into custody, Gregory said.
Later on, both of the women made positive identifications that Gerardy was the person they saw exposing himself, Gregory said Thursday.
Gregory told Patch that Gerardy had been previously registered as a juvenile sex offender.
