JOLIET, IL - On Friday night, Joliet Police cars arrived at the Walmart on Route 59 after police say a 53-year-old Joliet resident was tinkering with the bar codes. Shortly before 8 p.m, Jeffrey Calascibetta was put handcuffs and taken for a ride to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, he was charged with retail theft.

Police say that the security team from Walmart notified them that Calascibetta was captured inside the store regarding an apparent retail theft.

"Officers were able to determine that Calascibetta had placed bar codes from cheaper items onto more expensive items. He then went to the self-checkout lane and purchased the items at the reduced prices. Calascibetta was then detained by Walmart security. Officers arrived and placed Calascibetta into custody for the above offense," police reports show.
