Rt. 59's Lucky Bamboo Is Back, Adds 4 Value Specials

Lucky Bamboo restaurant has been in Joliet for 17 years. It's along Route 59 in the same shopping center as Tony's Fresh Market.

JOLIET, IL — After being closed for seven weeks during the new coronavirus outbreak, Joliet's Lucky Bamboo restaurant is back open for carryout orders. Lucky Bamboo is in the Caton Crossing Shopping Center, two doors down from Giovan's Jr. Pasta & Pizzeria.

Lucky Bamboo is in the city of Joliet, although it has a Plainfield mailing address of 2304 Route 59.

One of the restaurant managers told Joliet Patch that Lucky Bamboo reopened Friday. It had been closed since March 16.

"I don't know who told them, but it was kind of a busy weekend. The first day was kind of OK, but Saturday was very busy," the manager said Monday.

Lucky Bamboo offers a special lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. that ranges in price from $7 to $8. There are more than two dozen meal selections on the lunch menu.

Also, Lucky Bamboo is giving away free food based on how much money a customer's order costs before tax.

  • If a customer spends at least $25, Lucky Bamboo will give you four free veggie spring rolls.
  • If a customer spends at least $35, Lucky Bamboo will give you a free large order of Lo Mein noodles.
  • If you spend at least $40, you will get a free large order or chicken fried rice.
  • If you spend at least $50, Lucky Bamboo will give you a free order of General Tso's chicken.

Lucky Bamboo is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday for carryout orders. Its dining room, like all sit down restaurants, remains off-limits to customers during the pandemic.
