Serial Shoplifter Gets Arrested At Joliet Target
Her previous crimes were at Walmart, Jewel-Osco and Saint Joe's hospital gift shop.

JOLIET, IL - A woman in her mid-sixties is back in the Will County Jail, again, in connection with her latest arrest on criminal shoplifting charges. A review of her criminal history at the Will County Courthouse shows at least three prior convictions for retail theft for Judy Minton, who lives in the 1900 block of Crest Hill's Wilcox Street. Her latest arrest occurred on the evening of May 31 at the Joliet Target store on Plainfield Road.
According to the Joliet Police Department's criminal complaint, Minton entered the Target store and was caught stealing "beach towels, swim wear, bug repellent, drink ware and other items with the intention to deprive the merchant permanently of the possession use or benefit of such merchandise without paying the full retail value of such merchandise."
Minton, 65, now faces two retail felony charges. Court records state the value of the items she is accused of stealing from the Plainfield Road Target "exceed $300."

The complaint explains Minton was convicted of felony retail theft, here in Will County in 2016. That arrest occurred at the Jewel-Osco on West Jefferson Street. She was convicted of stealing food in that case. In 2011, Minton was arrested and later convicted of shoplifting at the Walmart store in Lockport on South Farrell Road, court records reflect.
Lockport Police officers arrested Minton for stealing "bedding and magazines," court documents show.

And in 2003, Minton was arrested by Joliet Police officers at the Saint Joseph's Medical Center gift shop at 333 North Madison Street. In that crime, Minton was arrested for stealing "toys and candles and a wall plaque," court records show.
Last week, a Will County judge set Minton's bail at $10,000. On Tuesday morning, she remained incarcerated, unable to come up with $1,000 cash to post as bond.
