Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Coming to Life in Lisle

The worlds of royals, lovers, faeries & mechanicals collide in Shakespeare's fantastical "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

THE STORY: Hermia, betrothed to Demetrius, has fallen in love with a poet, Lysander, against her father’s will. Hermia’s best friend, Helena, is infatuated with Demetrius despite the betrothal and wishes nothing more than for his love in return. Amid this cacophony of love & mayhem, we include faeries’ quarrels & mischief, as well as a hilarious “play-within-a-play” from a band of raucous men. But who will marry in the end?

THE PLAYERS: All of the hilarity, love, betrayal, & mischief will be brought to life by directors Sean Ogren & Suzanne Ogren & their cast from Bard in the Burbs, an up-and-coming theater troupe in the Western Suburbs, whose inaugural production, “Twelfth Night”, occurred in September 2016. Bard in the Burbs aims to make Shakespeare’s works accessible for modern audiences in an intimate, theater-in-the-round setting.

The cast of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” includes actors from around the area including: Dave Amato, Lisa Dawn Curran, Andy Dameron, Erin Dameron, Amanda Garofalo, Mel Heeres, Michelle Ho, Aaron Hoge, Mary Kuhn, Fletcher Ogren, Sande Harris Ogren, Jay Pauer, Chris Picchione, Paula Rada, Beth Sitrick, Michael Sitrick, Pam Turlow, & Sharon Voss.
