Shelley Mae Fronek
Age 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Lightways Hospice,
surrounded by her loving family.
Shelley was born in Marseilles, IL, on September 21, 1927, to Otto and Grace (nee Beard) Cave. She grew up alongside 6 sisters and 1 brother. Shelley attended Seneca High School.
Shelley met the love of her life, Charles Fronek, while roller skating in Morris. They were married on November 1, 1947, in Joliet, embarking on a partnership that lasted a lifetime. Shelley lovingly balancing her time between cooking, canning, baking, and raising 3 mischievous boys.

Shelley and Charles shared a passion for square dancing and spent many joyful years with the Joliet Squares. They also enjoyed numerous bus trips to casinos across the Midwest, making memories along the way. Their love was evident to all who knew them as they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2017, just 4 days before Charles passed away in early November.
Shelley is survived by her three sons Robert Fronek, Joseph (Andrea) Fronek, and Richard (Desiree) Fronek. She was a proud grandmother to Michael, Christopher (Julie), Eric (Allie), and Jacelyn Fronek, and a cherished great-grandmother to Kody, Alyssa, Mykenzie, and Zackary. Shelley is also survived by her sisters Ina and Jean, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Saturday, March 29th at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Bo Mircea officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to Lightways Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
