This marks the second major act of violence at the Jefferson Centre, which is owned by well-known Joliet area commercial real estate investor John Bays.

On May 21, someone fired numerous gunshots into the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services offices at 1619 W. Jefferson St.

In October, five months after someone walked up to the building in the middle of the night and shot the building up, Joliet police charged Rickey Darnell Evans with the violent crime.

Evans now faces one count of intimidation, two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and one count of criminal damage to property.
