Simmons Shoots Boyfriend In Leg: Joliet Police
This 30-year-old Broadway Street resident was arrested on Saturday night.

JOLIET, IL - A 30-year-old Joliet woman who lives in the 300 block of North Broadway Street was arrested by Joliet Police officers on Saturday night after police say Lisa Simmons shot her boyfriend in the leg. Simmons was arrested around 9:45 p.m. on charges of aggravated domestic battery.
According to Joliet Police reports, officers rushed to the apartment in the 300 block of North Broadway after learning that someone was shot. At the apartment, police learned that the man's injuries were not life-threatening, and he was able to provide the officers with a statement. The man told the police that "he got into an argument with his girlfriend, Simmons. The victim stated Simmons had been drinking, so he decided to just get his stuff and leave for the night," reports show.
At that point, Simmons didn't want her boyfriend to leave, according to the police.

"The victim stated that Simmons told him he wasn’t going anywhere, shoved him back, pulled out her gun and shot him in the leg. The victim stated that he was able to run out of the apartment to escape," police reports reflect.
Simmons was booked into the Will County Jail at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. Then, on Monday afternoon, she was released from county detention after posting 10 percent of her $20,000 bail.
