JOLIET, IL — Following the recent news that a Portillo's Pick Up triple drive-thru would be opening in Joliet as well as a Smallcakes store, the Joliet City Council will review plans next week for the construction of a Smoothie King restaurant at 2504 West Jefferson St.

The development calls for a drive-thru, unlike the Joliet area's closest Smoothie King location, in Shorewood, at Black Road and Route 59. ThatSmoothie King opened last November next to the Noodles & Company World Kitchen.

Plans for the Smoothie King construction were submitted to Joliet officials earlier this month.
