Man Arrested In St. Joe's ER After Fighting With Staff: Cops

It was 28-year-old Omarr Fahim's third arrest in Will County since June.

JOLIET, IL - A 28-year-old man from Chicago now finds himself staying at the Will County Jail facing a $50,000 bail after he was arrested inside Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center early Friday morning on charges of aggravated assault, criminal trespass to property and possessing drug paraphernalia. The Joliet Police Department says that officers were sent to St. Joe's Hospital regarding a person in the lobby refusing to leave upon being asked to do so. It was Omarr Fahim, police reports show.

"Officers observed Fahim lying on the floor of the ER reception area, with his shoes off and shouting obscenities, causing a disturbance," the police said.

The Joliet Police officers spoke with the hospital's security force who relayed that "Fahim was acting erratic, yelling obscenities and trying to fight with ER staff."

When Joliet Police asked Fahim to leave, the situation got worse. Police say "Fahim was asked to leave and became even more disruptive, while threatening physical harm."

In the end, Fahim got arrested for aggravated assault and trespassing and officers located drug paraphernalia in Fahim’s possession, police say.

A review of Will County's jail logs shows that Fahim was in county detention from June 21 through July 27 after being arrested by Will County on charges of public indecency/lewd exposure and criminal trespass to a residence. Fahim was also jailed from Aug. 23-Aug. 27 on two counts of criminal trespass to land.
