Star Inn Guest Demands Jail, Attacks Joliet Officer: Cops
Star Inn, at 2219 1/2 West Jefferson St., has been one of Joliet's most notorious places for police service calls in recent years.

JOLIET, IL — Elijah Bouie, a 29-year-old Joliet resident who was staying at the Star Inn hotel at 2219 1/2 West Jefferson St., is now in the Will County Jail after attacking a Joliet police officer Monday night, authorities said.
Bouie was booked into county detention on charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer.
Joliet squad cars were sent to the Star Inn around 8:25 p.m. after learning someone called 911 for an unknown problem.

Patrol officers found Bouie standing on the outside of a room and when officers talked to him, "Bouie commented that he wanted to go to jail and continued to be aggressive and uncooperative with officers," police spokesman Dwayne English said.
When police tried to arrest Bouie, "he headbutted an officer in the chest and kicked the officer in the leg," English said.

Joliet police put Bouie in handcuffs and delivered him to the Will County Jail, where he was booked into custody around 9:35 p.m.
Bouie, who resides in the 1400 block of Fairview Avenue, remained incarcerated Tuesday night unable to post 10 percent of his $15,000 bail.
Last December, Joliet Patch produced an exclusive investigative story chronicling how Joliet officers responded to about 250 police calls for service last year at the Star Inn.
