Stateville Coronavirus Cases Remain On Rise
An inmate from Stateville died at the Morris Hospital as a result of the new coronavirus.

JOLIET, IL — The number of Will County residents who have tested positive for the new coronavirus increased by 62 on Sunday, reaching a total of 662 cases. The state announced that another Will County resident died, a man in his 60s, bringing the county's deaths to 15.
State public health officials announced that two inmates from Stateville have now died from the coronavirus outbreak, and the total number of coronavirus cases involving Stateville's prisoners has reached 60.
Last week, it was announced that members of the National Guard were being sent to the sprawling prison property north of Joliet along Route 53 to set up a M.A.S.H. infirmary on the prison's grounds to provide care for the Stateville inmates diagnosed with the coronavirus.
