Styx @ Taste of Joliet 2016
Attendees of the Taste of Joliet on Friday night got the chance to sail away with Styx.
If you grew up in the Chicago area in the 1970's and were asked to name a few of your favorite classic rock bands from during that time, chances are, Styx would be on your list.
Anyone at the Joliet Memorial Stadium on Friday night got the opportunity to hear hits such as 'Lady', 'Come Sail Away', 'Blue Collar Man', and 'Renegade' as Chicago natives and founding members of Styx James "JY" Young and Chuck Panozzo were back home with the rest of the group to headline the Taste of Joliet.
Keyboardist Lawrence Gowan, who provides a modern twist to Styx classics, kicked the show off vocally while lead guitarist Tommy Shaw played the role as lead vocalist for the next two songs following him. Vocals for most of the show are compliments of both Shaw and Gowan with occasional lead vocals from James Young.

With Todd Sucherman on drums and Ricky Phillips on bass, the six members of Styx do an excellent job at providing concert-goers with an exciting, energetic show.
