
Thelma L. Slemp
Went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2023 with her family by her side. Age 86 years.
She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother. She is survived by her loving daughter, Christine Lucky and cherished grandson Jacob. Several nieces and nephews and cherished longtime friends Nora Giaudrone and Rose Davis.
Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucy Albright, her husband James Slemp, her son Michael Slemp, son-in-law David Lucky and eight brothers and sisters. And longtime friend Doris Smith.

Thelma retired from Plainfield Molding. She was a longtime member of The Crystal Lawns Church of The Nazarene and was involved in many roles as a member. She especially enjoyed the bus ministry which she was very active in. Many lifelong friendships where built in her years at Crystal Lawns Church.
Thelma loved attending church events, being with family and friends, especially her grandson Jacob. She loved all music, but especially religious hymns.

The family would like to thank her nurses and CNA’s for their care at Presence Villa Franciscan over the years. She was fond of all of them especially her caretaker Allie. Her greatest joy was her family, and spending time with them meant the world to her. She will be missed beyond words.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Joliet, Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials to Crystal Lawns Church of the Nazarene or Lightways Hospice will be appreciated.
