JOLIET, IL — Two weeks ago, Kevin Reed was jailed after police said he held a knife against his girlfriend's neck in Rockdale. This week, the Will County State's Attorney's Office filed an unrelated charge of retail theft against the 34-year-old Joliet man.

The criminal complaint states that on Nov. 19, Reed entered the Joliet Walmart store on West Jefferson Street and stole Black and Decker Matrix drills. The criminal complaint indicates Reed has a prior theft conviction in Cook County from 2015.

Reed has remained in Will County's custody since Nov. 21 when Rockdale Police arrested him in connection with allegations of domestic violence, logs show.
