JOLIET, IL — For the fourth time in two years, 28-year-old Joliet resident Marquel Jimerson has ended up in the Will County Jail, and his latest felony arrest surrounds a violent disturbance at downtown Joliet's Harrah's Casino hotel, according to Joliet police reports.

Joliet police say Jimerson, who comes from the 1000 block of Rooney Drive, which is off Black and Ingalls, is now jailed on charges of robbery, intimidation, eight counts of domestic battery, plus interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

First, back on Feb. 6, at 11:25 p.m., Joliet police were called to a guest room at Harrah’s Casino Hotel for a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke with Jimerson and a woman in the room and both assured the officers there was no disturbance.

Jimerson left the hotel at this time, according to English.

A short time later, the woman staying at Harrah's went to the nearby police station to make a report of a prior domestic disturbance. Officers learned Jimerson had attacked her at approximately 10 p.m. in the Harrah's hotel room.

English announced that "Jimerson pushed his way into the victim’s hotel room and punched and kicked her in the head and body multiple times. It is believed that Jimerson stole cash, a debit card, and an identification card from the victim during the attack."

Once the Harrah’s security notified Joliet police of the incident, "Jimerson had instructed the victim to conceal her injuries and advise officers that no physical altercation had taken place," police reports advised.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jimerson last Wednesday. Then on Thursday night, at 10:37 p.m., Jimerson was captured when Joliet police spotted him at the Red Roof Inn, 1750 McDonough Street.
