Troy Craughwell Students Write "Poe-Tree" Poems

Troy Craughwell Elementary School teacher Elizabeth Duesing recently compiled an e-book of more than 100 poems composed by her 3rd grade English Language Arts students, which included poetry in the acrostic, cinquain, lanterne, metaphor, and simile styles.

Kevin wrote,

“Soccer

Extremely fun

Kick a ball in a goal

Feeling cheerful when I watch it

Futbal”

Anna Belle wrote,

“Sun

Shining

In my face

Playing outside

March”

Some were dedicated to their retiring principal, Kathy Barker, such as this one from Mason.

“Mrs. Barker is

As sweet as candy

As bright as the sun

Like a best friend

As calm as an ocean breeze”
