Troy Middle School Mathletes Take Gold At Tournament
Seventh and eighth grade teams took 1st place at Des Plaines Valley Conference Tournament; several students also placed individually

The Troy Middle School 7th grade Mathletes Team and the 8th grade Mathletes Team both took home first place gold medals in the Des Plaines Valley Conference Tournament recently held at Summit Hill Junior High School.

Troy was also awarded first place in conference for the highest five scores of all participants.
Individually, Josie Jarmuz, 8th grade, received a gold medal for outstanding individual performance; Nico Montes, 8th grade, received the silver; and Hayden Smidl, 7th grade, brought home the bronze.
“Our Mathletes proved that Troy has the most agile mathematical minds in the conference,” Troy Mathletes coach and 8th grade Science Capstone Exploratory teacher Dr. Barbara Will-Henn said, “and I am so proud to be their coach.”
Troy Middle School is a Troy Community School District 30-C school.
