University of St. Francis Named Among 'Best in Midwest'

For the eighth consecutive year, the University of St. Francis (USF) has been named a “Best in the Midwest” institution by The Princeton Review’s “2015 Best Colleges: Region by Region.”

“We’re always pleased when outside organizations recognize the quality of a University of St. Francis education,” said President Arvid Johnson. “Our USF family strives each and every day to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. While we very much appreciate outside recognition, what is most important to us is that we serve and graduate our students, who are considered as top prospects by employers.”

“We accomplish all that with 81 percent of our students engaged in experiential learning and a 78 percent career placement rate (in their field of study) for undergraduate students,” Johnson added.

Says Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s senior vice president/publisher, “We developed our “Best Colleges: Region by Region” lists to offer guidance for the growing number of students and parents now seeking colleges closer to home. We selected the University of St. Francis and the other terrific institutions on our ‘regional best’ lists -- primarily for their excellent academic offerings.”

The 159 colleges that The Princeton Review chose for its “Best in the Midwest” 2015 list are in 12 states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The Princeton Review also designated 226 colleges in the Northeast, 124 in the West and 139 in the Southeast as best in their locales on the company’s “2015 Best Colleges: Region by Region” lists. Collectively, the 648 colleges named “regional best(s)“ constitute about 25 percent of the nation’s 2,500 four-year colleges.
