Victim Bites Her Attacker, Joliet Police Say This Plainfield Man, 65, Used Hammer To Destroy Her Phone
This week's domestic disturbance happened on Langsford Lane, according to Joliet police.

JOLIET, IL — Edward Egan, a 65-year-old man from the Plainfield area of Joliet accused of domestic battery and criminal damage to property, will be transported from the Will County Jail over to Courtroom 202 on Friday for his first court appearance.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 2:12 p.m. on Wednesday, the officers responded to a house in the 6600 block of Langsford Lane for a domestic disturbance.
English said that Edward Egan allegedly struck his daughter-in-law in the face during an argument after she began recording him on her phone. A physical confrontation followed, during which the victim reportedly bit Egan to get away. Egan is also accused of destroying the victim’s phone with a hammer, the arrest report noted.

English said the victim was transported to St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department for treatment of her injury.
As for Egan, the 65-year-old resident of Langsford Lane was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, English explained.
