VIDEO: Joliet Street Musician Sid The Sax Man

Sid's often playing his saxophone near Chicago Street Pub.

JOLIET, IL - Some of the most interesting people can be found around the streets of downtown Joliet. On Thursday afternoon, the Joliet Patch Editor encountered this man, who's a regular street musician. You can hear his music within earshot of the Will County Courthouse. He said his name is Sid Jones, and he hails from Chicago. Most people don't know him as Sid Jones. He's "Sid the Sax Man," he smiled.

You can often find the "Sax Man" camped out on the sidewalk near the Chicago Street Pub. He plays the blues, jazz, waltz and Polka, he remarked. But Blues and Jazz are his specialty.

"I do have a lot of friends that come down here," The Sax Man said. "I like this (spot) downtown. It's where they know to see me."

The Sax Man said he played at a lot of festivals over the years, but never inside the Rialto Square Theatre.

Who knows, maybe Rialto officials will see this and book Jones for a local show.
