Visit Joliet Junior College's Main Campus To Watch Aug. 21 Solar Eclipse

The incredible solar event is considered a once-in-a-40-year experience.

JOLIET, IL - Where do you plan to be a month from now when the first solar eclipse in 40 years will be seen throughout North America? Joliet Junior College wants you or your family to watch it safely from its campus. Students and area residents are urged to visit Joliet Junior College on Aug. 21, where you can witness history outside the Event Center of the main campus, 1215 Houbolt Road on Joliet's west side.

According to the college, the viewing event for the solar eclipse will be from 11:45 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. The eclipse is set to start 11:53 a.m. and finish precisely at 2:53 p.m. What's known as a maximum eclipse takes place at 1:19 p.m.
