JOLIET, IL - Family and friends can gather on Friday afternoon at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 1503 Arthur Avenue, for the visitation of Miles Stallings, a 34-year-old Joliet native who was murdered last week. According to the Joliet Police Department, Stallings was shot multiple times in the 800 block of Robin Lane, an area of Joliet commonly known as The Hill. According to police, several people were outside in the neighborhood around the time of the shooting, but nobody has come forward with information that can identify Stallings' killer.
On Thursday, one of the Stallings' cousins posted an online condolence through the Morris-Minor Funeral Home website. "It's hard to see this day come and you go at such an early age but the man up above has plans for you now and I'm sure you will put in the hard work as you have always done," the cousin reflected.
"Our hearts are heavy today and will be tomorrow as well as the next, but when I SEE that you are no longer with us, I do just the opposite and I close my eyes and the only thing I see is your face smiling back at me as always."
