Walmart Busts Convicted Joliet Thief For Shoplifting: Complaint
Charles Jones has multiple convictions in his past for crimes involving retail theft, court records show.

JOLIET, IL — A 61-year-old Joliet man has remained behind bars at the Will County Jail since his Jan. 15 arrest by Joliet police on charges of retail theft at the Walmart on West Jefferson Street. Charles Jones has had multiple convictions in his past, here in Will County, and in Elkhart County, Indiana, for crimes involving retail theft, court files show.
Last week, Jones was apprehended after he stole Tide Pods, clothing, gloves, hats, foods, lighters and a razor at the Joliet Walmart, the full value of the stolen merchandise exceeds $300, his criminal complaint shows.
In 2018, Jones was convicted of retail theft here in Will County. New Lenox Patch wrote an article about that crime, headlined,"Jewel Laundry Detergent Thief Caught By Police."

In 2016, Jones got sentenced to one year at the Illinois Department of Corrections for committing retail theft at a Dollar General store in Joliet, court documents show.
Jones, who lives in the 400 block of Joliet's Strong Avenue, now faces a $20,000 bail in connection with his two retail theft charges from Jan. 15.
