Wife Became Unconscious During Beating: Joliet Police
Joliet Police got a warrant to arrest this man for beating his wife, reports show.

JOLIET, IL - A 59-year-old Joliet man was jailed Sunday night because he clutched his wife by her jaw and choked her so hard that she passed out, five days earlier, Joliet Police reports show. Now, Kevin Bonds Sr. is charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery.
According to Joliet Police, squad cars rushed to one of the apartments in the 500 block of Bellarmine Drive around 10:30 a.m. last Wednesday for a domestic spat. The victim told officers that her husband, "grabbed her jaw and pushed her up against the wall. Bonds then grabbed the victim’s arms and started shaking her repeatedly which made her head bang against the wall," reports show.
Eventually, Bonds grabbed her jaw so hard "that she was unable to breathe," police said.

As the beating persisted, the woman was choked, punched in the face and hit in her back several times, reports show.
Eventually, the woman got to her cellphone, but Bonds did not want her calling the police on him, reports indicate.

"Bonds then hit her with her cellphone multiple times. The victim stated at one point she lost consciousness from the beating. The victim stated Bonds eventually left, and she was able to call for help," reports show.
Joliet Police got a felony warrant to arrest the domestic violence suspect. On Sunday around 8:30 p.m. Bonds was captured in the 500 block of Bellarmine Drive, reports show.
Bonds, jail logs show, was lodged at the Will County Jail between March 6 and July 12 after being arrested by Joliet Police officers on three charges of domestic battery on March 6.
As for his new criminal charges, Bonds' bail was set at $10,000. If he manages to come up with $1,000, he can go free while his court case is pending.
