Woman In 30s Becomes Latest Will County Coronavirus Death

The number of deaths from the new coronavirus has climbed to 172 in Will County.

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Health Department on Monday afternoon announced that nine more county residents have died from the new coronavirus including a woman in her 30s. Will County's Health Department now reports 172 people have died from the illness since March.

In addition to the woman in her 30s, Will County's latest deaths involved: a woman in her 60s, four women in their 70s, a man in his 80s and two women in their 90s.

The number of new coronavirus cases also increased by 160, health department spokesman Steve Brandy said, bringing Will County's number of total cases to 3,067.

According to Brandy, Will County has had one death involving a teenager from the coronavirus, one death of a person in their 20s, three people in their 30s, four people in their 40s, 16 people in their 50s, 30 people in their 60s, 40 people in their 70s, 54 people in their 80s, 22 people in their 90s and one person who was more than 100 years old.
