Woman Escapes Choking On Oneida Street: Joliet PD
At 11:45 p.m., Joliet police were sent to the 500 block of Oneida Street for a domestic disturbance.

JOLIET, IL — A 42-year-old Joliet man from the 500 block of Oneida Street was arrested by Joliet police over the weekend after officers say Aaron Sellers tried to choke a woman after shoving her to the ground late Saturday night.
Sellers is now in the Will County Jail, where he's charged with aggravated battery, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and obstructing justice.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the following events led to the Oneida Street resident's felony arrest of Sellers:

- At 11:45 p.m., Joliet police responded to the Sellers residence in the 500 block of Oneida Street for a domestic disturbance. During an argument, police said Sellers shoved the woman to the ground and then began to choke her while he was on top of her.
- The victim escaped from Sellers and ran to a bedroom, according to police. Sellers then entered the bedroom and shoved the victim to the bed, and then took the victim’s phone from her, police said. Sellers was on the scene and was placed into custody without incident.
- At the Joliet Police Department, officials said Sellers refused to cooperate with booking procedures, and he was then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, where he remains on Monday.
