Woman With Heroin Arrested In Joliet: Complaint

Joliet Police officers arrested the young woman from Mazon recently.

JOLIET, IL - A 22-year-old woman from Mazon was recently charged at the Will County Courthouse with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The arrest of Kati-Lynn Edwards, the criminal complaint states, was made by Joliet's Police Department on Nov. 30. Edwards is accused of bringing the deadly drug of heroin into Joliet.

"Said defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a substance containing heroin ...," her complaint states.

Additionally, Edwards is charged with bringing another deadly drug into the city.

The complaint states the young woman from Mazon "knowingly and unlawfully possessed a substance containing fentanyl, a controlled substance."

Edwards stayed in Will County's Jail for one week and then posted 10 percent of her $10,000 bail on Dec. 6.

She is currently free while her two felony charges are pending at the courthouse.
