Young Woman's Body Found Friday: Will County Sheriff

An autopsy on the unidentified young woman is set for Saturday.

JOLIET, IL - An autopsy is set for Saturday on the body of an unidentified woman discovered Friday around dinner time near Joliet's Forest Park area. Around 5:15 p.m., deputies with the Will County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 1500 block of California Avenue in connection with a body dumped in the roadway. Sheriff's deputies learned that several teenagers saw the dead body on the ground. The teenagers then dialed 911 and waited for sheriff's deputies to arrive.

According to Will County, the young woman "was lying face down, unresponsive, and cold to the touch." Will County Sheriff's detectives suspect the victim is a white woman between 18 and 25.

"The scene was processed by crime scene investigators and detectives are following up on potential leads," Will County Sheriff's officials stated in a press release late Friday night.
