Over 30 Joliet Central High School girls will be inducted as Fearless Females Z Club charter members on Nov. 18

Over 30 Joliet Central High School girls will be inducted as Fearless Females Z Club charter members on Nov. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Joliet Central High School Auditorium, 201 E. Jefferson Street. The charter club is sponsored by the Zonta Club of the Joliet area and is a unique new partnership between Zonta members and the high school. The event is free and open to the public.
The Zonta Club of the Joliet Area, established in 1973, is a Zonta International service organization of executive women who work together to advance the status of women worldwide. The organization supports both local and international service programs and projects.
Through the charter partnership with the Fearless Females, Joliet Zontians will provide career guidance, mentorship, international fellowship and the ideal of service to the young women.
Joliet Zonta Club President Yolanda Reyes will present the charter, who upon acceptance, will become the Fearless Female Z Club. “The club is so excited to partner with the high school and this amazing group of young women,” said Reyes. “Z Clubs for girls is one of Zonta International’s longest running programs that provides the development of leadership skills, promotion of career exploration and the participation in community, school and international projects. To establish a Z Club in Joliet is a new endeavor that will allow our members to provide resources, information and guidance to these young girls.”
