• A North Shore earthquake? It happened on Wednesday (therecordnorthshore.org) — A small 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck beneath Lake Michigan about 12 miles off the Kenilworth shoreline Wednesday, with four Kenilworth residents reporting they felt it. No damage was reported locally, and experts say the quake likely resulted from ancient glacial ice retreat slowly reshaping the lakebed’s bedrock.
