LA GRANGE, IL — One of the five members of the board for the Park District of La Grange has resigned, while another is poised to do so.

On Aug. 17, Tim O'Brien, the board's vice president, left the board because he was set to be appointed to the La Grange Village Board. He was sworn in Monday.

Karel Jacobs hasn't submitted a resignation date, but she plans to step down because of increased professional responsibilities, according to the park district. She is a biology professor at Chicago State University.
