9 Vie For Lyons Township High Board Post
The applicants live in various towns in the high school's area.

LA GRANGE, IL – Nine people have applied for the open position on the Lyons Township High School board.
Last month, member Elvia Nava resigned from the board before her term was up. She was appointed 15 months earlier.
The board has chosen to conduct interviews behind closed doors, which is allowed under state law.

In response to a public records request, the school released the candidates' applications to Patch on Monday.
Three candidates are from La Grange, two from Western Springs and one each from Burr Ridge, Countryside, Hodgkins and La Grange Highlands.

The board plans to hold a closed meeting Tuesday to discuss filling the open position. No decision will be made, according to the agenda.
Whoever is picked could serve until April, when the next election is.
