Another Change At Helm Of La Grange Public Works

First, the longtime director leaves. Now, the acting director is retiring.

LA GRANGE, IL — Two months ago, La Grange's longtime public works director resigned after more than a dozen years.

Now, the acting director is retiring. The village has been searching for a permanent director.

On Monday, the Village Board will be asked to adopt a resolution in honor of acting Director Mike Bojovic.

In April, former Public Works Director Ryan Gillingham, who started in 2008, took the same job in McKinney, Texas, a north Dallas suburb. That town's population is nearly 200,000, compared with La Grange's 15,000.

Bojovic became acting director upon Gillingham's exit. In 1987, he started with the village as a maintenance worker. He moved up the chain to become assistant director of public works in 2006.

The resolution says Bojovic's commitment to public service is reflected "in his attention to detail and exemplary work ethic."
