Big Improvements Eyed For LTHS Campuses

Replacement of exterior doors and frames could cost up to $700,000, according to the school.

LA GRANGE, IL – Lyons Township High School's administration is recommending a number of building projects for next summer.

Except for one, the projects have risen to the top of the list based on need, according to a school memo.

Here are the projects with estimates:

  • Replacement of some exterior doors and frames (those most in need) at both campuses, $600,000 to $700,000
  • Replacement of lights at the South Campus' fieldhouse and pool, $630,000 to $735,000
  • Replacement of the air-handling unit that serves Room 140 at North Campus, $150,000 to $175,000
  • Addition of ticket booths at Bennett Field, $90,000 to $100,000. The project was started in 2014 when foundations were poured, but the booths were never built. This project is considered optional.

The school board plans to discuss the projects at its meeting Tuesday.

It also is set to address a proposed remodeling and addition for the South Campus that could start next summer.
