Bites Nearby: Variety Is The Name Of The Game At Dino's Pizzeria and Fast Food

Patrons keep coming back for Philly sandwiches and pizza by the slice.

Driving down La Grange Road, there is a plethora of fast food dining choices. at 1014 S. La Grange Road in La Grange has been serving up American favorites for over 25 years.

An unassuming little building, Dino’s possesses all the trademarks of a mom and pop joint—tight dining quarters, two hanging TVs to keep you company while you eat and signs pasted all over the walls advertising their specials.

The gyros dinner was uneventful. I would recommend asking for the ribbons of meat to be cooked up on the grill for a crispier texture and while you're at it, toast the pita bread too.

Their basic cheeseburger was marginal in presentation and taste; however its one stand out feature was that they top the char-burger with grilled onions.

Regrettably, I went back to the counter to ask for a side of gyros sauce for my grilled chicken pita sandwich. Although it didn’t come with my meal, they still charged me 35 cents. It was spare change wasted, since the sauce was not what I was expecting—creamy, garlicky goodness. It had a strange aftertaste that I did not enjoy or recognize.

I understand that Dino’s probably has legions of fans, since the dinner time crowd was pretty consistent. Perhaps my taste buds have matured and I expect a little more quality from even my fast food.

On a positive note, if you dine here with a group of people, Dino’s has the menu to satisfy all appetites. For such a small place, Dinos' prepares a wide variety of fast food favorites.

Thin and Deep Dish Pizza is available whole or by the slice. They have an extensive sandwich selection, including Submarines and Phillys. Ribs, tacos and lasagna round out the menu. If you can’t find something to eat here, you’re probably not hungry!

You can usually find a Dino’s coupon behind your Dominick’s receipt. They have delivery service and free refills which is always a plus.
