Brookfield Reads finale to host author Natalie Moore

The Brookfield Public Library invites the community to the Brookfield Reads finale featuring award-winning WBEZ journalist and author Natalie Y. Moore on Sunday, June 2 at 3 p.m. at Brookfield Zoo.

Throughout the 2019 season of Brookfield Reads participants read The South Side: A Portrait of Chicago and American Segregation and attended engaging events discussing race and class in the Chicago area. At the finale event, Moore will discuss her book, The South Side, as well as Chicago and the problems of social inequity that continue to plague it. A book signing will follow the discussion with copies of The South Side for sale courtesy of Anderson’s Book Store, LaGrange.

The Brookfield Reads finale event will be held Sunday, June 2 at 3 p.m. in Brookfield Zoo’s Discovery Center. The event is free and open to all ages; however advance registration is required for entry to the Zoo. Individuals may register to attend online at www.brookfieldlibrary.info or by contacting the Brookfield Public Library at 708-485-6917 x 130.
