Chicago Craft Beer Week Events Come to the Suburbs

Craft beer brewing is an industry on the rise, and whether you're a veteran beer snob or looking to try something new, there's plenty of local events to celebrate Chicago Craft Beer Week. 

From May 16-26, bars, restaurants, breweries and more spots in the Chicago area will offer special tastings, tappings, deals, meet-and-greets with brewers and lots more. 

In the La Grange and Western Springs area, we've highlighted a few local options. You can find more Craft Beer Week events in the western suburbs, or see a map with all events in the Chicago area. 

Wild Monk, 88 S. La Grange Rd. in La Grange

• Thursday, May 16: 5 p.m. special tapping of Solemn Oath (Naperville) Tickle Fight, a 10.8% ABV American Barleywine. 
• Tuesday, May 21: 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Lagunitas beer dinner. Wild Monk Excutice Chef Franscico Vazquez will create a five-course meal that will be paired with five different Lagunitas brews. 
• Thursday, May 23: 5 p.m. special tapping of Local Option's Dampf Loc, an all-barley, warm fermented ale. 

Mainstreet Wines & Spirits, 5425 S. La Grange Rd. in Countryside

• Thursday, May 16: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. New Belgium tasting
• Friday, May 17: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Samuel Adams tasting
• Saturday, May 18: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. craft beer tasting. Try 24 varieties of craft brews from Founders, Ballest Point, Greenbush Dogfish, 5 Rabbit Lagunitas and more. Event is $10 and includes a Mainstreet pint beer glass and food. 
• Thursday, May 23: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dogfish Head tasting, featuring My Antonia, Indian Brown, Aprihop and Rhizing Bines.
• Friday, May 24: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Revolution tasting

Brixie's Beer Bar & Grill, 9526 W. Ogden Ave. in Brookfield

• Thursday, May 16 at 3 p.m. through Sunday, May 26 at 3 a.m.: $4 pints of Two Brothers Sidekick beer all week.
• Friday, May 17: 6 p.m. Michigan brewery showcase. Meet representatives from Bell's and Founder's breweries and try the special tapping of Founder's Doom.
• Wednesday, May 22: 7 p.m. Speakeasy release party for the Chicago area. Brixie's will tap Big Daddy, Double Big Daddy, Prohibition Ale and XPA. A brewery rep will be on hand and pint glasses will be handed out while supplies last.
• Thursday, May 23: 8 p.m. Wisconsin brewery showcase, featuring Lakefront's 25th Anniversary and a special Randall-infused Tyranena Scurvy.
• Friday, May 24: 6 p.m. Local brewery showcase featuring Chicago's 5 Rabbit and Revolution. Meet the brewers. 
• Sunday, May 26: 2 a.m. Stay up late Saturday night for this special tapping of Solemn Oath beer.
