Child’s Voice Board President Steps Down
Peter Schiltz of La Grange Served on the board for 17 years

Peter Schiltz, Child’s Voice Board President since 2017 and board member since 2003, stepped down from his role in April. Dan Stratis will now take on the role of President.
Schiltz has been a board member since his son Dean graduated from Child’s Voice in 2003. Schiltz served as Treasurer from 2003 until becoming President in 2017. He is a financial professional at William Blair & Company.
Stratis is the father of Danny, who graduated from Child’s Voice in 2011. Other board members include Vice President Alejandra Ullauri, Treasurer Mitchell Knopoff, Secretary Jennifer Polston, and members Catherine Cappuzzello, Cathy Jareczek, Julie Lynk, and Dana Suskind. Board Member Renee Jones also stepped down from the board this month after serving for six years.

Child’s Voice, based in Wood Dale and the Roscoe Village neighborhood in Chicago, helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and to speak. Students wear hearing aids and/or cochlear implants, and programs use a child-focused, research-based curriculum, all with the end goal of transitioning graduates back to their neighborhood schools. The Child’s Voice program serves nearly 400 children and their families each year.
The Board of Directors leads Child’s Voice in the oversight of policy, financial, governance, and strategic planning.
