Citizens' Council Extends Application Deadline for Local Offices
This fall, the Council will slate candidates for nine elected positions.

La Grange, Ill. (October 13, 2014) – The Citizens’ Council of La Grange extended its deadline to Wednesday, November 5. The organization is now accepting candidate data sheets (or applications), available on its website - lgcitizenscouncil.org, for this fall’s slating session.
This fall the Council will slate candidates for 9 elected positions including three open seats on the Village Board of Trustees; three open seats on the Library Board of Trustees; and three open seats on the Park District Board of Commissioners.

“We encourage anyone who may have an interest in running for public office, to contact me or someone on the Council and we’d be happy to answer any question or provide more information on a particular office,” commented Jim Arnold, Council Chair.
The slating sessions are scheduled for November 12th and 19th for the Library Board, Park District Board of Commissioners and the Village Board of Trustees, respectively. The sessions will take place at La Grange Village Hall at 7 p.m.

Founded in 1941, the Citizens’ Council of La Grange is a non-partisan, volunteer organization, which serves the residents of La Grange by seeking, evaluating, and recommending candidates for the Village, Library and Park District Boards. The Citizens’ Council is not a caucus or a political party. It comprises representatives from each of the 11 voting districts within La Grange.
