The Council completes first slating session for April 2015 election

La Grange, IL. (November 14, 2014) – The Citizens’ Council of La Grange had it’s first slating session on Wednesday, November 12 with the recommendation of Bridgette O’Connor, John Reardon and Laurie Braun for the Library Board of Trustees. The Council also slated Mary Ellen Penicook, Lynn Lacey and Bob Vear for Park District Board of Commissioners.

“After a thorough vetting process, including an application and interview, the Council recommends these candidates.” said Jim Arnold, Citizens’ Council of La Grange chair.

“The Council plans to hold a candidate forum prior to the April 7, 2015 election in an effort to introduce all the candidates to the Village residents,” said Arnold. “This forum will be an opportunity for the public to hear more about the candidates’ platform.”

The Council will interview candidates for the Village Board on Wednesday, November 19 at 7:00pm at La Grange Village Hall, 53 S. La Grange Rd. The public is invited to attend.

The Citizens’ Council of La Grange is a non-partisan, volunteer organization dating back to the 1930s, which serves the residents of La Grange, Illinois by seeking, evaluating, and recommending candidates for the Village, Library and Park District Boards.
