Citizens' Council Seeks Candidates for Village Boards & Commissions
Deadline for Candidate Applications to Council Nears

La Grange, Ill. (September 22, 2014) – The Citizens’ Council is looking for candidates for the 9 elected positions on the Library, Park District and Village Boards. The Council is now accepting candidate data sheets (or applications), available on its website - www.lgcitizenscouncil.org, for this fall’s slating session. The application deadline is October 15th.
“It’s important to have choices in the voting booth as well as during the Council slating process to ensure there is robust discussion and exchange of ideas on current and future topics concerning our Village, Library and Park District.” said Jim Arnold, chair of the Citizens’ Council of La Grange.
This fall the Council will slate candidates for 9 elected positions including three open seats on the Village Board of Trustees; three open seats on the Library Board of Trustees; and three open seats on the Park District Board of Commissioners.

“Running for office is a great service to the community and we encourage anyone who has an interest to complete a data sheet and come before the Council,” said Arnold.

The slating sessions are scheduled for November 12 and 19 for the Library Board, Park District Board of Commissioners and the Village Board of Trustees, respectively. The sessions will take place at La Grange Village Hall at 7 p.m.
Founded in 1941, the Citizens’ Council of La Grange is a non-partisan, volunteer organization, which serves the residents of La Grange by seeking, evaluating, and recommending candidates for the Village, Library and Park District Boards. The Citizens’ Council is not a caucus or a political party. It comprises representatives from each of the 11 voting districts within La Grange.
