LA GRANGE, IL — As climate strike rallies were held all over the country on Friday, one took place right here in the west suburbs. More than 100 people showed up to make their concerns about climate change known Friday morning at Waiola Park in La Grange. The climate strike served as a public appeal for government leaders to declare state of climate emergency and pass the Illinois Clean Energy Jobs Act and Green New Deal, organizers said.

It was the Indivisible groups of Western Springs, La Grange/La Grange Park and Brookfield that organized the strike in La Grange.
