Cossitt Avenue Railroad Crossing Closed for Maintenance

The Cossitt Avenue railroad crossing will be closed while the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad performs maintenance.

The crossing will close from June 22 to June 28, weather permitting.

The track and asphalt pavement will be removed and replaced at the railroad tracks to provide a smoother crossing, according to the village.

Detour signs will be posted in the area, marking a route that uses East Avenue, 47th Street and La Grange Road.

Businesses should notify the delivery companies that use this route about the closure.
