Cossitt School Student Service Council Gives Back to Charity

District 102 Students Take Part in Fundraiser for Local Charities

The Cossitt School Student Service Council (SSC) in La Grange was on a mission to help those in need this spring. The sixth grade SSC ran a one-week food drive April 23-27 to benefit the Saint Francis Xavier Food Pantry in La Grange. They were able to collect about 100 food items. The same week, a Pennies for Paws fundraiser was held to support homeless animals at the Hinsdale Humane Society. Under the guidance of SSC sponsors Mary Kay Masterson and Noreen Veeser, the SSC collected over $300 for the charity. Throughout the year, SSC members have also been collecting pop tops for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and will continue this philanthropic endeavor until the end of the school year.
