Cub Scout Pack 3177 Leads 65th Annual Holiday Food Drive

Traditional food drive organized by local Cub Scouts helps restock the Second Baptist Church of LaGrange food pantry

Cub Scouts from Pack 3177 organized a holiday food drive in LaGrange for the 65th consecutive year. The boys distributed over 1000 grocery bags throughout the Country Club neighborhood in LaGrange over the Thanksgiving weekend. Filled grocery bags were picked up by the boys in the early evening on November 30. The collected food was then packed into boxes and loaded into a truck for transport to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which keeps the food pantry at the Second Baptist Church of LaGrange stocked. The Cub Scouts of Pack 3177 and their families collected more than a ton of food this year to help those in need.

The Pack is grateful to Trader Joe’s of LaGrange for donating the collection bags. Food drive co-chairs Brooke Matteucci and Patty and Andy Sarkady did a great job handling all the logistics and Ken Tucker was able to secure all the packing boxes at no charge to the Pack.

Cub Scouts in Pack 3177 attend all four D105 elementary schools. They participate in numerous service projects in the community throughout the year. They also enjoy hiking, camping, and many other fun activities. Want to learn more about Pack 3177? Visit www. cubpack3177.org
