Customer Returns To Rob La Grange Store At Gunpoint: Cops

The suspects made off with up to $30 in the armed robbery, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – A man showed up about 2:30 a.m. March 24 at a 7-Eleven convenience store in La Grange to buy a bottle of water and M&M's, police said.

That prompted the suspicion of the 53-year-old clerk, who feared a robbery would soon take place at the store at 6 E. 47th St. He held his finger next to the panic button for the new few minutes.

But after that, he went back to stocking the store.

Ten minutes later, the customer returned with two others. All wore face masks and hoods pulled up over their heads.

According to a police report obtained through a public records request, a man brandishing a handgun ordered the clerk, "Down on the floor!"

The man pointed the gun at the clerk and asked whether anyone else was in the store, police said. One of the other suspects ordered the clerk to open the cash register.

The men stole $25 to $30, police said.

The three men were described as black and 19 or 20. Two of them were said to be 6 feet or 6-foot-1, while the other was 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9.
